very good product. works as advertised and does what it says. great for a home where there are children and guns and it allows the firearm to be reached quickly if necessary.

i've read some negative reviews but seems like a good product.never had any issues yet so far and i love it.i also bring to the range just in case i need to secure my guns or in my car,a little big but good thing is i can fit maybe 3 guns.I can't give a positive review yet about reliability but if button fails it has a keys,for now i give it a fve stars........

This is a miniaturized version of the five foot tall rifle safe that we own. The hand print on top is easy to align to while your eyes are closed. The access code may be as short as three presses to help quick access while under stress. The metal is solid. The electronics function as expected. I really like GunVault devices apparently. My only complaint about this MicroVault XL is that there isn't any padding that keeps my pistol from sliding around inside and impacting the metal walls. What I did was place the pistol inside of the inside-the-pants holster to give it some protection, then put the spare magazines in the pockets on the lid. I still have to carry it around level or it will bang around. You shouldn't consider this to be a briefcase. I purchased this to use in hotel rooms while my child is with me. Sits on a nightstand just fine. One additionally note: this wasn't an issue for me, but the lid does not stay in an upright position like the picture shows. The lid folds 180 degrees open and has no hing stop to make it stand up like a briefcase. Again, this is a non-issue for me, but I just found it curious. Overall, fantastic product, and I would recommend it.
