Do not buy for a real firearm

I purchased this sight to mount on my AR-15. I am very careful to make sure the description does not state for AIR SOFT ONLY. This item had no such listing. Once I receive the item, I opened the sight, and much to my surprise, there was a letter from the sender. "This sight is for Airsoft use only. To discourage use on a real fire arm, the elevation screw has been made to not function properly." So I though what does this mean, does the sight not adjust for elevation, I was not exactly sure. After I removed the scope from the packaging, I tried the elevation screw. The screw has been modified do that is will not hold zero. With the the wind-age screw, there is resistance to hold it in place while the firearm is in operation. The elevation screw is so easy to move, that you can move it with the tip of your finger. The housing of the sight is made of of plastic, and does not seem that it would stand up to the recoil of a real firearm.

I ordered one of these to put on my colt M4 22LR. I received it in timely fashion and it came in in excellent condition. there were no instructions in the box but it was simple to install. I sighted it in and ran 300 rounds through with no problems. As a red dot sight the unit seams to be well worth the purchase price. I will update after a couple of months.

Nice but misleading product

I was completely surprised to open the box for this item & find a small slip that stated that the sight was to only be used with airsoft weapons & that the windage was disabled. The item description mentions nothing of this, therefore making it a borderline scam. On a positive note, the unit looks pretty good & they even have the Eotech logo screen printed on the housing similar to the actual product (looks cool but I'd rather it didnt. No reason to fake it). The windage actually worked & held zero on my PS90. The gun has about as much recoil as a 10/22 however so I cant claim what it will do on say an AR. I considered trying but didnt want to blow that much money & break it. The PS90 needed an optic so it will work fine for it. Not sure about higher caliber weapons (AR, AK, ect.). It works for me but had i known, I wouldnt have purchased it. Again, it does work for what im using it for.
